Concord-Carlisle Youth Basketball is committed to providing a safe environment for our players and coaches. We are carefully monitoring guidelines from both the U.S. Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the MA Executive Office of Energy and Environment Affairs, which has jurisdiction over youth sports guidelines in Massachusetts.
We will have a zero tolerance policy for non-compliance to the CCYB COVID Safety Policy this season. We have worked closely with Metrowest, who has their own policies defined here. If you can not or will not comply with the policies set forth, please do not register your child to play.
Parents must take the temperature of their player(s) prior to attending a practice or a game. If the player has a fever, sore throat, difficulty breathing, loss of taste/smell, muscle aches, fatigue, or headache, we ask that you keep your player home and notify firstname.lastname@example.org immediately.
Parents must validate that the player does not have any of these systems using the SSU Play App and indicating attendance for the practice or game. If a player does not have a response to attendance, it will be assumed that the parent has not performed the proper screening and they will not be allowed to participate until it is complete.
If your player or anyone in your household is awaiting the results of a COVID test, you should keep your player at home. Close contacts and positive cases must quarantine in accordance with Concord Public Schools guidelines.
Players and coaches will be required to wear masks at practices, and potentially for games pending official Metrowest guidance. This complies with the state of MA mandate for masks in schools as well as the requirements of our gym providers.
Spectators will not be allowed in the facilities where practices will take place. Individual facilities will determine whether or not spectators are authorized for games, and under what terms.
Players should bring their own hand sanitizer to practices and games.
Players will be asked to keep 8-10 feet apart during water breaks. We have requested that coaches keep activities that require significant cardiovascular effort to a minimum and provide breaks every 10-15 minutes.
If a player tests postive for COVID, team activities will be suspended. CCYB follows the Concord Public Schools procedures for COVID response and notification procedures and will coordinate with the Concord Board of Health in regard to the timing of the resumption of activities for that team.
If your child is exhibiting COVID symptoms, please contact your Head Coach and the CCYB COVID Manager, Peter Jantzen, at
and by text at 617-834-1463. Peter is familiar with our policy and committed to providing a safe environment for our kids. He can answer any questions you may have now or during the season.
